The James McClean to Celtic rumour has been triggered again- with some substance that the Irishman could be on his way to Glasgow.
For the best part of a decade there has been speculation that the former Derry City and Sunderland man was on the brink of joining the club that his social media posts all point towards.
Celtic are clearly looking for a left sided player, after beating St Mirren last week Neil Lennon described it as a vacancy after Boli Bolingoli had gone out on loan to Turkey.
In midweek McClean played for Stoke in their Carabao Cup win away to Wolves but was missing from the side that lost 2-0 today at home to Bristol City.
Putting two and two together is a classic transfer tale that rarely comes to four but this time there appears to be stronger grounds to link McLean with a move to Celtic.
Greg Taylor would be the first to admit that he is primarily a left-back, playing wing-back is much different in demands.
In recent weeks Moi Elyounoussi has been a regular on the bench despite coming in on loan for the season from Southampton.
The grapevine in Derry was very much alive to the arrival of Shane Duffy at Celtic, there hasn’t been much chat so far about McClean but with two weeks left to do business it can’t be totally dismissed.
