Ibrox transfer bingo has returned to Borna Barasic.

There is a crazing among elements of the press and media to deliver a big money transfer deal to confirm that status of the club where the £1.8m received for Josh Windass in 2018 remains the club record.

Director of Football Ross Wilson failed to find any buyers in January with attention this window switching between Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Barasic. Attempts to sell James Tavernier have been abandoned.

Barasic was signed from Croatian aces Osijek for £1.75m two years ago and is now being touted for a fee way above his station as the Morelos situation has shown over the last five windows.

The Sun reports:

While Italian giants Napoli and Roma were also reportedly keen on his obtaining his services.

But now, according to Croatian publication Sportske Novosti, Leeds United went as far as making a bid worth almost £8million for Barisic.

However, Rangers were reportedly quick to reject the offer as they had no intention of letting the defender go. Marcelo Bielsa has reportedly now turned his attention to another Croatian defender, Josko Gvardiol, instead.

Barasic is under contract until 2024. Real Madrid and Spurs haven’t followed up on their interest in Ianis Hagi.
