They are three strikers revered by Ibrox fans, names that give them a glow of comfort wrapped in the warmest of memories.

Tonnes of goals between them, equal amounts of attention and adulation for their exploits in a blue shirt.

But scoring against Celtic has been shall we say a bit of an issue. Between the three big hitters they’ve managed just one goal against Celtic, or one less than Henrik Larsson.

The Swede headed in an own goal on his home debut against Innsbruck, bagged 242 for Celtic then returned to score against the hoops for Barcelona on Champions League duty.

Of the three Ibrox legends only Boyd has scored against Celtic, in a dead rubber in April 2007 long after Gordon Strachan’s side had clinched the SPL title.

For the remaining 12 years of his professional career Boyd tried everything to score against Celtic but whether at Kilmarnock or the various clubs from Ibrox he has failed to find the net.

Over the last three years the failings of Morelos has taken on epic proportions, Defoe has talked a good game, going for 55 and all the rest but like the chunky Colombian has fallen to pieces when confronted by the hoops.
