Alice Hedworth has announced that she has been made redundant from ‘Rangers TV’.
Redundant seems an inappropriate phrase to use with the club expanding their output with legends such as Alex Rae, Neil McCann and Walter Smith picking up match fees with Emma Dodds presenting the shows live from Ibrox.
Hedworth came to the company prior to the Dave King regime change and was the face of the club when the 2016 Petrofac Training Challenge Cup was won at Hampden.
30 June 2019 was the last time that the Ibrox club produced any accounts with massive investment in players since then plus new contracts for the managerial staff.
With matches being played Behind Closed Doors the club has missed out on staging four glamour pre-season friendlies with the gate money from four Europa League qualifiers also missing from the current season.
During the current transfer window there has been a net spend of around £10m with transfer fees paid for Cedric Itten, Kemar Roofe and Ianis Hagi with Jon McLaughlin, Calvin Bassey and Leon Balogun added to the payroll.
Andy Halliday is still available as a free agent with extensive media work now added to his CV.
In the past week I’ve had my redundancy from @RangersFC confirmed. To say I’m heartbroken to lose a job I loved and committed everything to for the past 6 years would be an understatement. Thank you to everyone who made Rangers & Glasgow my home, I’ll miss you ?
