Leigh Griffiths has dropped a late night hint that he could be in the Celtic squad to face Livingston today.

The striker has only played in 30 minutes of a pre-season friendly against Hibs which was followed by a calf strain that ruled him out of the early weeks of the season.

Last Saturday Odsonne Edouard, Albian Ajeti and Patryk Klimala all scored in the 5-0 win at Ross County but in midweek the strikers were off target as Celtic laboured to a 2-1 victory at St Mirren.

Today’s game with Livingston is the middle match in a spell of five games in 16 days with Lennon wary of the toll it can take on players even though they effectively had a three month break caused by Lockdown.

At his media conference yesterday Lennon reported that Chris Jullien and Mikey Johnston were the only injury concerns with the winger still to resume full training.

A home match against the team joint bottom of the SPFL table would appear to be the ideal time to get Griffiths and Tom Rogic back involved with both players signed during Lennon’s first time in charge of Celtic.
