Neil Lennon is expecting to have Tom Rogic available for Wednesday’s match away to St Mirren.

The midfielder hasn’t appeared in any competitive match this season and faces additional competition for a place from David Turnbull.

Celtic did agree a transfer fee with a club from Qatar for Rogic but after discussing personal terms the player declined the option to move on.

Last season the Australian only started six of Celtic’s 30 SPFL matches but Lennon is looking to have him involved again within a week.

Picking up on an interview with Sky Sports, The Sun reports Lennon saying:

A fee was agreed but Tom and his representatives failed to agree personal terms with the Qatari club so as far as I’m aware that deal’s not going to happen.

He’s back, he’s training today. He’ll not be available for the squad at the weekend but he’ll be available on Wednesday against St Mirren.

Rogic appears to have slipped behind Ryan Christie and Olivier Ntcham for a place in midfield but with such a glut of fixtures this season he has every chance of getting some opportunities.

Lennon signed the 27-year-old in January 2013 but it was under Brendan Rodgers in 2016 that he really flourished with a string of big match goals including the last gasp winner against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup Final to clinch the Invincible Treble.
