With a fortnight left of the transfer window Neil Lennon is adamant that Odsonne Edouard is not for sale.

The unique circumstances of a transfer window stretching into October (closing for three months) while there is so much uncertainty has left the market in unknown territory.

There hasn’t been any real mega deals to push the bar upwards, with Liverpool signing Thiago for just £20m the direction of fees looks to be downwards. Jurgen Klopp got the Spanish international for a quarter of the fee paid a year ago for Harry Maguire.

Edouard has two years left on his current contract, a transfer next summer seems inevitable with Lennon determined not to lose his first choice striker during the current transfer window.

Discussing Edouard with The Sun the Celtic boss said:

We do not want to sell. We have had no bids or confirmed interest in him. I am hoping come the end of the window he will still be a Celtic player. He is not for sale. A lot of this rumbling behind the scene is speculation just now.

There is a contingency and there will be a lot of talk about Odsonne. We just want him fit and ready for Thursday.

So far in the transfer window Celtic have had a net spend of £13m for Vasilis Barkas, David Turnbull and Albian Ajeti with loan fees paid for Shane Duffy and Moi Elyounoussi.
