No show from Shved

Marian Shved was missing from the Mechelen side that beat Sint Truiden 2-0 on Saturday.

After seven matches of the Jupiter Pro League the on-loan winger has only played 48 minutes with the early signs suggesting that the move has parallels to his ‘career’ at Celtic.

Shved came on as a substitute after 66 minutes of last weeks 3-1 defeat from Genk but failed to find a place among the seven substitutes listed against Sint Truiden.

Last season Shved was restricted to three brief substitute appearances for Celtic despite being fully involved in the pre-season matches in Austria and Switzerland.

The season long loan was intended to revive his career but after seven matches it looks like the 23-year-old is slipping out the plans of coach Wouter Vranken whose side have taken seven points from seven matches.

After featuring in back-to-back wins over Mechelen and OH Leuven Jack Hendry will be hoping to make it three wins in a row tonight when Oostende travel to take on Genk.
