Celtic are showing interest in Casper Hojer of Aarhus.

Neil Lennon is looking to bring in one more player before the transfer window closes with Greg Taylor the only option at left-back since the departures of Boli Bolingoli and Jonny Hayes.

Celtic have been strongly linked with Charlton’s Alfie Doughty but despite a change in ownership at the English side it seems that no headway is being made.

With eight days left in the transfer window this looks like being a busy week with the Daily Record reporting:

Aarhus left-back Casper Hojer has moved onto Celtic ’s transfer radar as crocked striker Albian Ajeti could exit their Old Firm plans.

The £1.5 million-rated Scandinavian defender has emerged as a potential option for the champions as they look to strengthen the position.

Hojer, 25, has just over a year remaining on his current AGF deal and is also attracting interest from English Championship side Watford.

Celtic remain keen on Charlton’s Alfie Doughty, but, as yet, Addicks chiefs have not budged and do not want to sell.

Parkhead hierarchy will continue to pursue the English kid, but other avenues are being explored and it’s believed the club’s recruitment chiefs are also aware of Hojer’s situation.

Scandinavia has generally been a good market for Celtic to operate in with players settling quickly into the Scottish game.

With Doughty and Hojer both in the final year of their contract knowing that there is interest from Celtic is bound to be in the thoughts of both clubs.

In three months time those players will be able to sign pre-contract agreements but Celtic have a more immediate need to find cover and competition for Taylor.
