Paddy McCourt was among the first to congratulate Shane Duffy on security a season long loan to Celtic.
The winger joined Celtic in 2008 and although his tally of games wasn’t all that it could have been over his five years in Glasgow he did leave the fans with countless memories.
Duffy mentioned McCourt during his interview with the FAI, giving the impression that thousands in his home city have been waiting for the transfer news to be confirmed.

Duffy will be on international duty on Thursday against Bulgaria and on Sunday at home to Finland before he gets the chance to train with his new Celtic team-mates.
The defender is almost certain to make his debut on September 12 away to Ross County with a whole new look coming to the Celtic side with Duffy alongside David Turnbull, Vasilis Barkas and Albian Ajeti as the summer signings.
