Toby Paterson has joined Queens Park on a season long loan.

The switch to professionalism has been matched by something of a spending spree with a number of players such as Simon Murray, Peter Grant and Bob McHugh recruited to push for promotion to League One.

Paterson played at left-back in most of Celtic’s reserve team matches last season and signed a three-year professional contract during Lockdown.

On Friday, the Queens Park website reported:

Queen’s Park can today confirm the loan signing from Celtic of 19-year-old Brody Paterson.  The promising youngster joins us on a season long loan.

Speaking after the formalities were completed, Head Coach Ray McKinnon said “I’m excited we’ve managed to get Brody to join us this season.  He’s a very talented, athletic young player who will give us great balance and options up and down the left-hand side of the field”.

Queen’s Park would like to thank Celtic for their help in making this signing possible. The media team will be arranging an interview with our newest recruit, so look out for that coming early next week. Welcome to Queen’s Park, Brody!

With no reserve matches likely this season more of Celtic’s younger players are expected to go out on loan today.

Ross Doohan, Jonathan Afolabi, Ryan Mullen, Scott Robertson and Kerr McInroy have already gone out on loan for the season.
