Charlie Adam’s West Ham spy has informed him that Jack Wilshere would be a quality addition to Steven Gerrard’s bulging midfield.

Almost as soon as the transfer window closed confirming that there was no interest in any Ibrox stars speculation switched to the possibility of the injury ridden midfielder joining the Gerrard Revolution.

For over a week now all manner of players and pundits have been talking up the prospect of Wilshere moving to Ibrox despite the arrival on Deadline Day of South African ace Bongani Zungu.

In August Adam warned Celtic that he’d heard poor reports about Albian Ajeti, since joining Celtic the Swiss internationalist has become joint top scorer in the SPFL alongside Kevin Nisbit with a rate of one goal every 37 minutes.

Covering the prospect of Wilshere moving to Ibrox, The Boot Room reports Adam saying:

There’s always a possibility Wilshere could come to Rangers. Will it be a pay as you play? Because he will still be getting paid from West Ham, and he might just think I might go up there and play until the end of this season.

I could see it happening because Steven’s got that presence so it wouldn’t surprise me. When a quality player like Wilshere becomes available you’ve got to grab the bull by the horns and try and get that deal done.

Last season Wilshere started two matches in the EPL with six appearances made from the bench. The previous season he started in four EPL matches with the same number of substitute appearances after signing a four-year contract after his Arsenal deal expired.
