After a very frustrating fortnight Ryan Christie is set to relaunch his season.
A phone call from a Test & Trace expert identified the midfielder as a close contact of Stuart Armstrong and despite his protests he saw sent into self-isolation.
Instantly Christie found himself missing out on three international matches but as Kieran Tierney prepared himself to face Manchester City his international team-mate was forced to watch the Glasgow derby from his home.
Christie repeatedly tested negative during self-isolation but that cut no ice with the Scottish Government who insisted that in this instance elite athletes were treated the same way as everyone else.
It would be difficult to pick out a fortnight with so many important matches missed but over the next 15 days Christie can test himself against the league leaders in Italy, France and the Czech Republic as well as his old-team-mates from Aberdeen.
