Vasilis Barkas was left on the substitute bench as Greece struggled through a 0-0 draw at home to Kosovo.

The 2004 European Champions have been demoted to Group C  in the Nations League but haven’t found things straightforward in their group with eight points from four matches to trail leaders Slovenia by two points.

Benfica keeper Odysseas Vlachodimos was preferred for last night’s match which won’t upset Neil Lennon as he plans for Saturday’s derby match with Barkas starting every match since making his debut at Kilmarnock in August.

Barkas played in last week’s 2-1 win away to Kosovo but can now be reunited with Stevie Woods and prepare for his first appearance in the Glasgow derby.

Lennon is short on defensive options but it appears that Kris Ajer and Shane Duffy came through yesterday’s international matches unscathed which should allow them to work with Chris Jullien in training tomorrow.
