A huge number of Celtic fans want to see all of the club’s players withdrawn from international football.
Over the last 24 hours Odsonne Edouard has tested positive with Ryan Christie put into self isolation by the SFA after Stuart Armstrong tested positive. Both men were involved in Celtic’s 2-0 win over St Johnstone on Sunday with their place in the Glasgow derby in doubt.
Celtic’s players have been tested twice a week since the start of June but in international week the plans for the Glasgow derby on October 17 have been put in chaos.
It is unclear when Edouard will be able to return to Scotland after reporting to France for international duty.
Christie’s situation is unclear with Arsenal issuing a statement questioning the SFA over their decision on Tierney who insists that he remained socially distant throughout the international get together. Both Tierney and Christie have tested negative.
Scotland face Israel tomorrow night followed by further matches against Slovakia on Sunday then the Czech Republic on Wednesday.
Statement from #CelticFC on today’s @ScotlandNT announcement:
Clearly we are disappointed and frustrated to learn of today’s news, however, our over-riding concern is of course the health of the players and staff concerned.

The Celtic squad based at Lennoxtown have all again returned negative test results today. In addition all other players currently on international duty, outwith Odsonne as reported yesterday, have reported negative tests.

It is of course disappointing that this has arisen during the international break but it is something which shows the many challenges clubs currently face.
Celtic’s rigorous testing programme continues.

Pull mcgregor out… Scotland is an irrelevance

Enough of this. Get the players home and put a stop to internationals. Trying to keep them going during a global pandemic is insane!

We should be pulling our players from international duty.

There’s enough players on International duty to make up a full team. We certainly don’t need this.

Pull out the other Celtic players from the Squad. This is a farce.
Usual shambles from the SFA.
