Ryan Mullen has been forced to return to Celtic from his loan spell at Cove Rangers.
The young keeper signed a contract extension in the summer before heading out to the Aberdeen based side for what was expected to be a season long loan as back-up to Stuart McKenzie. Last week Cove added former Celtic keeper Josh Rae to their squad.
That plan has now been scuppered as Mullen revealed on his Twitter account.
Gutted to pick up and injury so early in the season but wish cove all the best for the rest of theirs ?? https://t.co/76ADXOKY6t

With Vasilis Barkas signed Celtic got back upto three available keepers with Scott Bain and Conor Hazard also available after the departures of Fraser Forster and Craig Gordon.
Ross Doohan has also been sent out on loan with little prospect of any meaningful football for what is left of Celtic’s Development squad.
So far Kerr McInroy (Dunfermline), Jonathan Afolabi (Dundee), Brodie Paterson (Queens Park), Scott Robertson (Gillingham) and Lee O’Connor (Tranmere Rovers) have all gone out on loan.
