Kris Ajer has spoken out after a summer of speculation that he was about to leave Celtic with AC Milan his most likely destination.
The story first surfaced in March and continued through a change in Agency right up until the window closed last week, soon after Celtic and AC Milan were drawn together in the Europa League.
The two clubs will face upto each other next Thursday on Matchday 1 but rather than pulling on the red and black stripes the Norwegian will be in the more familiar green and white hoops.
Discussing the speculation Ajer told The Sun:
There has been a lot of interest, but I am very happy to be in Celtic. They have given me over 150 games and backed me.
It is a club that means a lot to a lot of people, and I am happy to be there. My contract lasts another year and a half, and I look forward to playing there this season.
Despite the speculation Ajer has had a solid start to the season with Shane Duffy coming on board and Celtic switching between a back three and a back four.
Before he gets ready for more Europa League action the young defender faces Northern Ireland for his country tomorrow ahead of Saturday’s Glasgow derby.
