Shane Duffy has revealed that Celtic are paying all of his wages while he is on loan from Brighton.
The defender joined Celtic at the start of September after a few weeks of negotiations with other EPL clubs such as West Ham linked with an interest in the defender.
Matching the wages of any player from the EPL is a major task alongside a loan fee but in this deal there was always the feeling that Duffy was pushing for it to go through as opposed to joining another English side.
Celtic had recently agreed a transfer fee and terms for Albian Ajeti from West Ham but even with Duffy’s pedigree at the back deals for defenders are usually less demanding.
Despite losing out on a Champions League place the deal was done, tonight Duffy put some detail on how his Celtic deal was secured.
Someone sent me this feel like have to respond . Celtic pay my full wages sorry . Still don’t think it’s right to charge 15 quid for a match tho ??

Duffy played the full 90 minutes for Ireland in their 0-0 draw at home to Wales, on Wednesday he’ll be in action away to Finland before returning to Scotland to prepare for his first appearance in the Glasgow derby.
