Patryk Klimala has given Neil Lennon’s options for Saturday a boost by playing 83 minutes for the Polish u-21 side.

The striker scored a highly impressive goal in stoppage time against St Johnstone, recovering from a brutal attack by Liam Gordon, to put the match beyond doubt.

Yesterday Klimala was in his international colours getting some vital sharpness in a 1-1 draw at home to Bulgaria and playing a role in the equaliser from Bartosz Bida when his shot hit the bar with the rebound netted.

The young striker will be able to fly back to Scotland today and report for training at Lennoxtown tomorrow as Neil Lennon starts to put his plans in place for Saturday’s Glasgow derby with the striking area of particular concern.

Leigh Griffiths, with 15 minutes of competitive football this season, has been the only striker in full training at Lennoxtown with Albian Ajeti picking up on his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Doubts remain over Odsonne Edouard whose self-isolation after a positive test ends tomorrow with the French u-21 striker due back in Glasgow on Friday with Saturday’s match kicking off at 12.30.
