One excited Ibrox fan has predicted a 6-2 away win on Saturday- changing the tide of Scottish football. Perhaps he meant turning the tide.

Confidence among the Gullible seems to be sky high, even more so than the usual International Break delusions.

Since the start of the season there has been constant drum banging from the media in defiance of the SPFL table.

From the moment Boli Bolingoli decided to fly to Spain the Gullibles surged 11 points ahead of Celtic.

The first stage of that plan ran aground at Livingston with a goal-less draw but it still maintained the world record start to the season for clean sheets. At the same time free scoring Celtic were on the brink of crisis even though both teams had dropped two points.

When Celtic toiled to a 3-2 home win over Livingston (that team that had drawn with Gerrard’s lot) the stage was set for a title declaration the following day with a win over Hibs at Easter Road.

To no one’s surprise the bubble burst as their bottle crashed. The iron curtain defence was breached not once but twice. A winning position had been thrown away as Tav and Connor Goldson fell to pieces. It was almost as if we were back in February again.

With positive tests and self-isolation hitting Celtic on a daily basis confidence at Ibrox is on a par with Murty Mania when the Loudon Tavern erupted in joy after being drawn against Celtic in a Scottish Cup semi final.

As ever it’s the hope that kills them, Every time.
