Neil Lennon has wielded the axe with four changes to the Celtic side that lost to AC Milan for today’s SPFL clash with Aberdeen.
Vasilis Barkas and Stephen Welsh drop out at the back with Scott Brown and Leigh Griffiths on the bench as Scott Bain, Ryan Christie, Tom Rogic and Moi Elyounoussi start the match.
Connor Hazard is on the bench suggesting that Barkas is injured, possibly at Milan’s third goal on Thursday while Christie, Rogic and Elyounoussi give the side a very attack minded look.
Today’s match is the first time that the two clubs have faced each other since March but next weekend they’ll get together against Hampden to contest a place in the final of the Scottish Cup.
After a delayed start to the season Derek McInnes’ side moved into third place in midweek with a 4-2 win over Hamilton but Hibs overtook them yesterday with a 1-0 win away to Kilmarnock.
Celtic go into the match on the back of an eight match winning run at Pittodrie with Brendan Rodgers and Lennon always able to get the best out of their squad for this fixture.
CELTIC: Bain; Frimpong, Ajer, Duffy, Laxalt; Christie, McGregor, Ntcham, Elyounoussi; Rogic, Ajeti
Subs: Hazard, Taylor, Brown, Griddiths, Klimala, Soro, Turnbull, Ralston, Welsh
