Neil Lennon would love to see fans back inside Celtic Park for the Europa League group matches.

It’s seven months since supporters watched Celtic hammer St Mirren 5-0 with the stands lying empty ever since with the SPFL title clinched and a new European campaign launched.

UEFA managed to complete last season’s competitions and the qualifying stages for the 2020/21 season with all of the matches played Behind Closed Doors.

Last week more than 20,000 fans watched Bayern Munich beat Sevilla to lift the Super Cup with countries such as Switzerland opening the gates to allow supporters back inside.

Ultimately any decision will come down to the Scottish Government but with so much else going on it shouldn’t be too big a task to allow upto 20,000 supporters to attend an open air sports event.

Ideally, we would like the fans back in, I think that UEFA are looking at trying to get some of the stadium filled. That would be brilliant going into these games. We’ve got so much to look forward to, we’re on a good run.

Celtic will find out at noon today their Europa League group opponents with Lennon’s side among the top seeds in Pot 1.
