Paul John Dykes and Kevin Graham believe that today’s draw at Aberdeen is the end of the road for Neil Lennon.

The hosts of the Celtic State of Mind Podcast aren’t prone to knee-jerk reactions but with their daily broadcasts they are closely monitoring events around the club and feedback from supporters.

It’s clearly not a conclusion that they come to with glee or for sensationalism but the last three performances have confirmed the fears of supporters even as they watched the team recently notch up a seven match winning run.

There were signs in most of those matches that things were far from right, waiting on things picking up or turning around has proved misguided with the next three matches- Lille, Aberdeen and Sparta Prague unlikely to provide the team with the chance to find the form that they displayed back in February.

Three home defeats in Europe to moderate opponents raised concerns about Lennon’s ability to get the best from is resources. The shadow of the club CEO has also played a significant part in results with Vasilis Barkas the only new signing available for the Champions League qualifier against Ferencvaros.

Paul John Dykes: I said at half-time that Neil Lennon had 45 minutes to save his job, 45 minutes to save Celtic’s season. Has he done enough?

Kevin Graham: What I would actually say is that everybody got ashore but the boat sunk, the boat has gone. Every question that was asked of us, every question that we wanted answered- we failed on every single count this afternoon. I did say at half time that we had 45 minutes to turn it around, what I was meaning was that we had 45 minutes to turn this game round, but. For us not to see that game out is so wrong, the game management is unacceptable.

With minimal communications from inside Celtic Park fans will speculate over various outcomes over the coming days with the pressure mounting on Lennon.

His place in the club history is assured, he was the only man to come to the rescue in February 2019 when relations between Brendan Rodgers and the club had completely fractured.

A similar rescue act is now required but there is a lack of obvious candidates and leadership vacuum within the club to take decisive action.
