Two separate Twitter accounts have claimed that Celtic beat Motherwell 2-1 in a friendly at Lennoxtown today.
The main interest will be on the identity of the goal-scorers with Leigh Griffiths and Anthony Ralston apparently on target for Celtic.
Griffiths made his first competitive appearance in seven months last week when he came off the bench to score at St Johnstone with next Saturday’s Glasgow derby the obvious target for the striker.
With doubts over the availability of Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie while Albian Ajeti recovers from a hamstring injury the sight of Griffiths back playing and scoring will be warmly welcomed by Neil Lennon.
Patryk Klimala is the other striking option but with the Pole on u-21 duty it will be late next week before the Celtic boss can consider his availability.
Earlier this afternoon the SFA announced that John Beaton will referee the Glasgow derby with both teams going into the clash unbeaten.
