After a year of turmoil Jonathan Afolabi looks like getting his Scottish career underway.
Last summer the striker impressed for Ireland at the u-19 European Championship Finals with Celtic stepping in with a three year contract.
After a handful of reserve team appearances interrupted by a hamstring injury picked up on International duty he joined Dunfermline on loan in January but Lockdown put that on hold.
Afolabi was thrown on at half-time in the opening Championship match at Tynecastle- while he looked strong and sharp the same couldn’t be said of his defensive team-mates with Hearts winning 6-2.
James McPake clearly did some work in defence last week with an early goal from the on-loan Celtic striker enough to beat Morton and get Dundee’s season up and running.
With Hearts playing in the Scottish Cup on Saturday Dundee can go level on points if they can win at home to Raith Rovers who have opened their campaign with two wins in the Championship with former Celt Regan Hendry scoring in their opening day 3-0 win over Arbroath.
