Celtic season ticket holders will be able to watch the Betfred Cup tie against Ross County without taking out a subscription to Premier Sports.

Neil Lennon’s side begin their defence of the trophy with a home tie against Ross County on November 29 as they set out for a record equalling fifth successive trophy win.

Premier Sports have exclusive rights to both domestic cup competitions but have come to an agreement with Celtic to allow 50,000 fans to watch the action against the Staggies.

The Celtic website states:

The Club has made a significant investment to ensure that our season ticket holders can access this match and it follows the Club’s decision to also provide additional European qualifiers earlier in the season.

A spokesperson for Celtic said: “We are so grateful to our season ticket holders for the huge commitment they have made to the Club during this very difficult year. Clearly, we desperately want our fans back with us safely at Celtic Park. However, until this is the case we aim to do all we can to provide additional access and value to our fans.

“We are pleased to partner with Premier Sports and again offer our supporters this access as we begin the defence of a trophy we have won for the last four consecutive seasons. We thank our season ticket holders, indeed all our fans for their fantastic continued support.”

Since the start of the season Celtic have been providing Season Ticket holders with a live stream of domestic home matches.

The quality has been questionable at times with not much evidence of the significant investment. On line a club Twitter account has asked for suggestions for trouble shooting with fans watching matches through various online platforms.

This weekend Celtic fans will have to pay £15 to Hibs for a Pay Per View showing of the SPFL match from Easter Road.
