Celtic defender reacts to speculation over new deal

Andrew Gutman has sent a message of support to fans of Cincinnati City while talks begin over another season on loan.

The defender has already spent a season and a half on loan at Cincinnati City with the MLS club confirming yesterday that they were in talks with Celtic about a further loan deal.

Gutman’s career seems to be in a strange phase with a contract to Celtic until June 2022 but a major obstacle in not having a Work Permit.

At the age of 24 his career in North America is progressing at a decent level but aside from the Work Permit issue it’s difficult to see how he makes the transition to playing in the SPFL.

Gutman looked a reasonable prospect when he played in Celtic’s 2019 pre-season matches in Austria and Switzerland but with no obvious platform to develop and test his skills.
