After the worst run of results in a decade Celtic have finally decided to communicate with fans- slamming those that were involved in violent scenes after the Betfred Cup defeat from Ross County.
Social media video clips clearly show the anger of some fans and inappropriate chants aimed at Neil Lennon but in the grand scheme of things there are far more pressing matters for the club to address.
It seems like there is a complete lack of leadership inside the club with Chief Executive Peter Lawwell noticeably silent on recent events.
Over the last six weeks Celtic have crashed out of the Betfred Cup, Europa League and also trail by 11 points in the race for the SPFL title.
While clearly not a matter to trivialise, the club tonight issued a statement that looks aimed at shifting attention rather than dealing with issues around the team and management.
Everyone at the Club is hugely disappointed by this afternoon’s result, one which has ended our phenomenal run of 35 consecutive cup victories.
While we sincerely share the huge disappointment of all Celtic supporters, there can be no excuse for some of the violent scenes at Celtic Park this evening. The Club will be investigating these events fully.
For players and a management team, who have given so much in recent years and have delivered 11 consecutive trophies, to require an escort from Celtic Park while being targeted with missiles, is simply unacceptable.
While we understand that only a small number of people were involved in this behaviour, some of the actions this evening, which have obviously left our own players shaken, cannot be condoned in any way.
Today’s defeat was the fifth home loss of the season.
Everyone at the Club is hugely disappointed by today’s result.

Where were your sincere concerns when we failed the CL champions route?
Where were your sincere concerns when we couldn’t get a shot on target, at home, against them?
Where were your sincere concerns after we struggled to test GKs from open play against Riga, Ferencvaros, etc?

This from a group of directors who hide away from the fans. The timing just about sums up their contempt for the fans. The fact they will not allow questions from the floor at the upcoming AGM again shows position. Gutless clueless and need to be gotten rid of alongside the boss.

Scenes of violence were uncalled for…….
But how about investigating the horrendous performance from our manager & team this season!?! Stop pulling the wool over your eyes and ours n save 10IAR before that’s blown out the water as well!!!??????— Dom CFC67?9???? (@Shiv1888) November 29, 2020
I do not condone violence or abuse. Sadly, the supporters have been let down badly in the football side of things and not enough information or direction coming from the Boardroom to take the club forward. We are regressing at an alarming rate. Action is needed urgently!

Do some investigation into potential managers while you’re at it.

As a board you have failed the club. You have placed Neil in a ridiculous position.
Your actions now will determine where we go this season.I agree that the actions of fans today is unacceptable. Neil is a Celtic great. He deserves better.
