Chris Jullien looks like he is close to returning to action if his weekend Instagram activity is to be believed.

The Frenchman hasn’t played since September 12 when Celtic won 5-0 away to Ross County with Neil Lennon’s squad suffering multiple defensive issues since then.

Celtic have switched between a back three and back four, Stephen Welsh has been given a couple of outings and Diego Laxalt all signed since Jullien made his last appearance.

Lennon isn’t the greatest fan of Social Media but in the modern era it is the way that many footballers communicate, often through an Emoji or two with cryptic clues open to interpretation.

Jullien was reported to have recently been in France to see a specialist to examine his back problem but a video clip on the treadmill suggests that the worst of the injury is over.

After a two match absence Kris Ajer returned to action yesterday but suffered a recurrence of his groin injury and had to be replaced in the 78th minute.

As a non-internationalist Jullien can step up his training over the next fortnight to push himself into contention for a place away to Hibs on November 22.
