Sweet-toothed Celtic fans were delighted with the news that the club had teamed up with Cadbury’s to launch a global partnership.
On Monday the chocolate firm announced a deal with Celtic’s city rivals that concerned some fans who considered switching allegiance to brands not connected with Ibrox.
Just 48 hours later a solution was found with Cadbury’s linking up with Celtic for a number of choccy initiatives.
With cult figure Paddy McCourt known as the Derry Pele there is a quick rebrand available while one more thoughtful fan would rather hand the lady in his life a box of Paul Milk Tray.
In just over seven weeks plenty of Selection Boxes will be handed over as gifts offering supporters the chance to indulge while backing their favourite club.
With their link up with both Glasgow club’s Cadbury’s won’t need to worry about alienating many customers in Scotland with greater exposure and advertising opportunities to increase sales.
Whether any players will be promoting the new partnership remains to be seen but this week alone has provided priceless free advertising regardless of whether or not Shane Duffy wants to munch into a Derry Milk.
