The club from Ibrox have announced an exciting, strategic and dynamic advertising deal with Glasgow International Airport.

Adverts for the airport will appear at Ibrox and vice versa. There hasn’t been a paying fan inside Ibrox since March with passenger numbers at Glasgow Airport down 90% on a year ago.

It sounds like an exciting deal along similar lines to the Tomket Tires strategic partnership with the firm having two UK outlets, one in London and the other in Glasgow.

The club website states:

RANGERS are delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with Glasgow Airport for the 2020/21 Season.

This is a significant strategic and commercial partnership between Glasgow Airport and Rangers Football Club. The airport known as the ‘Gateway to Scotland’ operates to over 100 destinations using over 30 different Airlines, carrying over 9 million passengers per year.

Rangers have a long association with the Airport with Ibrox located in the local area and it being the number one choice for Club travel. We look forward to using the Airport this week for our upcoming fixture v Benfica in the UEFA Europa League.

Glasgow Airport is also used as a key travel hub by many of our supporters for both domestic and international travel, this partnership strengthens the commercial relationship between Rangers and the Airport.

Commercial and Marketing Director at Rangers, James Bisgrove commented:

‘’We’re delighted to form this exciting new partnership that creates a strong link between our City’s International airport and Rangers Football Club, as we continue to drive our club forward as a global brand.

‘’The visual presence of Rangers Football Club upon arrival and departure from Glasgow Airport, underlines our position as Scotland’s most international football club and will support a wide range of club commercial activities’’

This partnership will enable Rangers have a significant advertising presence within the Airport. Furthermore, Glasgow Airport will also benefit from branding at Ibrox Stadium, as well as offering prize draw giveaways and a number of other travel benefits to be announced.

The word ‘to’ sould presumably be between Rangers and have in the first line of the final sentence. It is highly unlikely that there will be 9 million passengers through Glasgow Airport this year.

Glasgow Airport haven’t made any announcement on their exciting new advertising deal. Only one football club has a shop inside the Airport. Bisgrove also headed up the strategic partnership with Castore Sports.
