Marian Shved has been placed in quarantine after a positive test was returned at Belgian side Mechelen.

The winger went out on loan during the summer but has failed to make much of an impact with just three appearances- all coming off the bench.

Picking up on a Mechelen statement, The Sun reports:

The last virus test on Tuesday in the run-up to the game against Charleroi confirms that there are no new infections. William Togui, on the other hand, has to be quarantined for an additional week.

Togui still tested weakly positive and has not built up enough antibodies to train and play with the group again.

The five other players in quarantine – Sofiane Bouzian, Marian Shved, Aster Vranckx, Bas Van den Eynde and Victor Wernersson – are still being tested today.

Shved was officially the last signing that Brendan Rodgers made for Celtic but it is debateable how involved the Irishman was in the deal, less than a month later he left for Leicester City.

Celtic allowed Shved to return on loan to Karpaty Lviv where he showed enough form to interest Celtic fans following him through social media.

Three substitute appearances last season however totalled up to less than 45 minutes of action with the loan move to Mechelen suggesting that he isn’t likely to be given another chance at Celtic.
