Neil Lennon has dismissed The Sun’s non-story about the private life of Jeremie Frimpong.

A hopeful American WAG stayed with the defender at the start of October but left disappointed when she discovered that he wasn’t about to put her on the road to riches and fame.

Tyjah Bowens took her anger out on Instagram with The Sun turning it into a story the day after it emerged that Jordan Jones and George Edmundson had been fined for hosting a house party with their club suspending the players and putting them into self-isolation.

No other mainstream publisher touched the story, there is no follow up in today’s edition of The Sun with Lennon saying:

Jerry didn’t break any rules. We were aware of it a few weeks ago and since then he has had about half a dozen tests where he has been negative.

There is pressure enough playing football. Having to be restricted in your movements can be difficult for them but it’s something we have to adhere to until things start to get better.

Frimpong has been a regular in the Celtic side over the last six weeks and seems certain to be in the starting XI to face Sparta Prague tonight as the hoops look to get their first win in the Europa League.
