A report in The Sun claims that Neil Lennon is on the brink of leaving Celtic.

The report is light in detail with a mention of crunch talks in the next 48 hours which leaves the story open to further developments. The author, David Friel is a former reporter at The Celtic View.

The Sun reports:

NEIL LENNON is on the brink of leaving Celtic after fans called for his sacking. The Hoops boss refused to quit following the 2-0 Betfred Cup defeat to Ross County. But crunch talks are expected in the next 48 hours after a horror run of just two wins in ten games.

Lennon has been under intense pressure over the last month but after the defeats against Sparta Prague and Ross County the attention and anger is switching towards Peter Lawwell.

The club Chief Executive announced Lennon’s permanent appointment straight after the 2019 Scottish Cup Final which came as a shock after three months to assess all potential applicants.

European results under Lennon have been disappointing but with four consecutive home defeats on the record the hoops are in their worst run of form at Celtic Park since the fifties.

Next up for Celtic is Thursday’s Europa League tie away to AC Milan, if the report above is accurate the hoops squad could go into the match under new management.
