Lewis Ferguson has escaped any retrospective punishment for the Hampden incident in which he appeared to throw a punch at Albian Ajeti.

The SFA Compliance Officer had until noon today to issue a Notice of Complaint but that deadline has come and gone without any mention of the incident which was missed by referee Don Robertson.

Celtic were cruising towards a 2-0 victory when Ajeti looked to run the clock down in the closing stages when he was decked by Ferguson trying to launch a last gasp attack.

Earlier this year Celtic were unhappy about Ryan Christie being hit with a two match suspension for an incident with Alfredo Morelos during the December Glasgow derby.

The Scotland midfielder had his appeal dismissed by the SFA who claimed that his action ‘endangered the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality’.

Exactly how the Compliance Officer judges incidents is unclear but Ferguson is clear to play for Aberdeen against Hibs on Friday before joining up with the Scotland u-21 squad next week.
