Keith Jackson carried out a brutal assessment of the Celtic squad- naming and shaming four players that he claims have let down Neil Lennon.

After losing 4-1 away to Sparta Prague it was assumed by many that Celtic could turn things round with what appeared to be a fairly gentle run of fixtures.

Following Thursday’s Europa League tie in Milan the furthest that the squad will travel over the next month is to Hamilton on December 26 however Ross County put paid to that idea.

Without a league win since mid-September Stuart Kettlewell’s side came with a plan, stuck to their task and cashed in as Celtic’s 35 match domestic cup winning run came to an abrupt end.

None of the Celtic players are performing anywhere close to their potential but in today’s Daily Record Jackson decided to highlight four that are not pulling their weight.

A lacklustre Lennon watched on from the sidelines yesterday and probably knew what was coming next as his players sold him down the river Clyde.

Albian Ajeti teamed up with Odsonne Edouard to create a two pronged attack which could hardly have looked any less interested in saving the boss had they carried a box of tools into the centre circle and taken turns of laying them down.

Christopher Jullien did little more than remind Ross County’s players how easy it is to knock over a 6ft 4in centre half while also managing to concede the penalty kick which started this horror show with another one of those calamitous defensive lapses which have peppered Celtic’s season from the start.

And Kristoffer Ajer continued to trip over his own petted lip, moping around the pitch and giving off the impression that none of this could possibly be his fault even though a great deal of it invariably is. If Ajer was even half the player he thinks he is then he’d be twice as good as the real life version who continues to defend as if he’s being asked to come up with a vaccine for the virus.

Despite claims of crunch talks taking place today it appears that it was business as usual at Lennoxtown in the aftermath of the Ross County defeat with all the signs being that Lennon will be in charge away to AC Milan on Thursday.
