Celtic’s Social Media team showed a complete lack of awareness with a tweet about the founding of the club On This Day in 1887.
The first meeting of the club is well documented, the current direction of the club is much less clear.
As recently as eight years ago the fans were celebrating an incredible high, beating a Barcelona team including Lionel Messi 2-1 in the Champions League.
Today, Sparta Prague join the Hall of Shame that includes Cluj, Copenhagen and Ferencvaros as the most recent competent European teams to savour that winning feeling in the away dressing room at Celtic Park.
Despite domestic domination Celtic appear utterly directionless under the current regime, ambition and drive seem entirely absent as they watch moderate European sides show how simple the game can be played.
The domestic domination is now under serious threat, there is a vacuum of leadership and accountability inside the club.
Honouring and recognising the club’s founders is best put back for another time- some modern vision would be very welcome in its place.

This tweet is one of the worst timed tweets I’ve ever seen

It’s actually an embarrassment. Roll up, roll up, come to celtic park, 3 points handed out to all visitors, no questions asked.

With the current setup 10IAR is gone. It needs change now, unforgivable to lose the league to a club when we have a huge financial advantage. Lawwells gambling isn’t working and is costing us dearly. The cheap option just isn’t cutting it and you are taking the fans for a ride.

This is all good and well but won’t deflect from the fact the manager and his backroom team should be removed by the end of the day.

How about a meeting today to sort this shambles out!!! We asked for the board to not fall asleep at the wheel and the car has ended up 30ft off the road in the most important season of our history. Act now or risk losing STH money next year!!

8 years ago we beat Barcelona. Now we couldn’t beat an egg.
Lennon’s time was in the past. He isn’t up to it now. Get a new manager pronto.

Don’t play the fans here. They deserve much better. They hard earned money to watch this dross. Poor beyond belief, should get the fans in that dressing room they would fucking lay into them.

Another meeting should take place on this day in 2020.
