With Celtic fans on Social Media screaming for a change of manager three key Twitter accounts aren’t going anywhere near the issue.

At 8pm on Monday Celtic’s official Twitter account has taken a vow of silence, after the back-slapping and self congratulations over their Christmas video it hasn’t been given a single plug today. Since wishing Scott Bain a Happy Birthday on Sunday morning it seems that the Twitter Team have been put on Furlough.

Throughout his time as manager Neil Lennon has been able to count on the backing of Chris Sutton and John Hartson. Not in an absolute Blind Faith manner or Comical Ali routine but whenever criticism has been fired at their old team mate the stalwarts from the O’Neill era could be relied on to offer a defence of the Celtic boss.

Both men have been active on Twitter over causes close to their heart. Sutton has been on a crusade to get support to the families of former players suffering degenerative issues from heading a ball with his own Dad, Mike suffering. In a recent newspaper interview Sutton’s Mum, Josephine admitted that she had considered a suicide pact with her husband.

Hartson has been supporting Safer Gambling Week after opening up on his own issues which blighted much of his playing days. Below the surface it seems that gambling is a major issue with footballers at all levels regardless of their salaries.

On Thursday Celtic are back in action, away to Sparta Prague in the Europa League. Sutton is almost certain to be on duty, compared to the other issue he is focussed on at the moment the fate of a football manager is trivial but in the here and now the future of Lennon is a burning topic.
