Having whipped up such a frenzy that it was the first issue at the First Minister’s media conference back in August, Celtic fans are looking to compare the hysteria that greeted Boli Bolingoli with Ibrox stars George Edmondson and Jordan Jones.

It took five days for new of Bolingoli’s trip to Spain to emerge, the crime of the Ibrox duo surfaced within 12 hours.

Despite the stringent rules laid down by Steven Gerrard two members of his first team squad attended an overnight House Party that was broken up by Police Scotland with both players fined alongwith others.

Fortunately, it seems that none of the first team regulars joined Jones and Edmondson at the party.

After the Bolingoli case came to light Celtic’s next two matches were postponed as a punishment. No players returned a positive test but the club missed out on two fixtures to highlight the seriousness of the incident.

Clearly that message hasn’t been taken on board at Ibrox but as the Five Way Agreement of 2012 demonstrated a different set of rules applies to clubs from Ibrox.
