Watch as the mask slips from Andrew Dallas

Celtic fans have seen plenty of Andrew Dallas this season with his contempt and disregard for players obvious to all.

At Dundee United in August the home players seemed to be on a rota over who was next to hammer through Odsonne Edouard. The French striker missed Celtic’s Champions League defeat to Ferencvaros as a result of his treatment at Tannadice.

Today at Motherwell, in his third Celtic match out of 12 Dallas watched Devante Cole kick out at Jeremie Frimpong’s thigh and judged that it was only a yellow card offence.

Without being a body language expert it appears that Dallas considers himself above the players that he earns a living from.

During the first half Declan Gallagher and Albian Ajeti clashed in the sort of run of the mill challenge that you see in every match. Verbal’s continued between the players afterwards.

In the manner of an old school Head Teacher Dallas jumped in with his scorn and contempt aimed at one player.

Referees are meant to take the emotion out of the game, administer the Laws of the Game without getting involved, not letting their feeling be known.

Dallas, who resigned from the elite FIFA list in 2019, had his face contorted as he told off Ajeti. After getting three of Celtic’s first 12 matches hopefully it’ll be a long time before his sneering features are in charge of another Celtic match.
