It won’t really come as a surprise to Celtic fans but it seems that BBC Scotland are determined to downplay the outcome of the 2020 Scottish Cup Final.

Until 2017 no team had ever won a back-to-back double but under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers Celtic made it a clean sweep of six domestic trophies.

Celtic Fatigue, or something else, seems to have set in at the state broadcaster with the same tired ideas being used for Sunday’s Final against Hearts as they floated last month for the semi-final against Aberdeen.

Every Scottish Cup is very meaningful, regardless of what others may suggest it is the showpiece of the Scottish football season. In 87 it was the day that St Mirren fans won’t forget, four years later Motherwell fans felt the same with 1997 a year that Falkirk fans won’t forget.

Ask St Johnstone or Inverness fans their highlight of this century and they won’t mention finishing in the top six of playing in Europe.

In its long history stretching back almost 150 years no team has ever won the Scottish Cup four years running.

With BBC Scotland having very little live football they really should be showing a little enthusiasm for Sunday’s final at Hampden.
