David Tanner came under attack from Celtic fans after a derogatory and sarcastic tweet before the Scottish Cup Final against Hearts.
The former Sky Sports anchor-man took exception to a video lip of Celtic fans gathered outside Hampden to welcome the team bus as they prepared for a historic Quadruple Treble.
Some social distancing rules may have been compromised but not any more so than the floods of people using planes, trains and visiting shopping centres over the previous 24 hours.
Glasgow is currently in Tier 3 of Lockdown legislation, on Saturday that will move into Tier 4 which involves the closure of non-essential shops plus leisure ativities such as gyms and cinemas.
There was no evidence to suggest that the Green Brigade were involved in the pre-match gathering but it seems a nice lazy media tactic to blame the Celtic Ultras group for any incident involving fans at or around Celtic matches.
After being dropped by Sky Sports in 2017 Tanner has launched a number of ventures. Currently he provides TalkSPORT with some coverage of Scottish football and hosts the Hibs streaming service while matches at Easter Road are played behind closed doors.
Despite his former high profile thanks to Sky Sports Tanner has less than 12,000 followers on Twitter.
The lawless element in the #Celtic support – The Green-eyed monster Brigade – break lockdown and gather at Hampden.
An embarrassment for the majority of fans.
The question is are they attacking the team bus this week or cheering it?

Rather than you – an embarrassment to ‘reporting’!

Loving your tears, Tanner.
Trebles aren’t for everyone. ?

Wow this tweet says an awful lot about a barely repressed hatred for a football club and possibly a little distress that they are so much more successful than some others.

Go and look at the trains, planes & buses coming up from England and all the city centres and shopping malls that will be mobbed from today onwards till Christmas

They are cheering David , I believe it’s a quadruple treble. Never been done before and probably will never be repeated . As you saw lately trebles are hard to achieve
