Celtic are reported to be keen on signing West Brom duo Kyle Edwards and Rekeem Harper on loan.

With Sam Allardyce taking charge at the Hawthorns on Thursday any talks held so far may be under review as the relegation fire-fighter rapidly reviews the squad that he has inherited.

On Friday Neil Lennon admitted that the impact of Brexit would force the hoops to concentrate their transfer activity in the UK with the window due to open in less than a fortnight.

The Sun reports:

CELTIC are eyeing loan moves for West Brom pair Kyle Edwards and Rekeem Harper. Hoops boss Neil Lennon plans to bolster his squad next month and has the Baggies duo on his radar.

Midfielder Harper, 20, was close to joining Celts in the summer of 2019 but chose to stay at the Hawthorns. Lennon even scouted him in person at the Championship play-offs against Aston Villa and is now poised to launch a fresh swoop.

Winger Edwards is also interesting the Hoops after falling out of favour under old boss Slaven Bilic. The 22-year-old has started only one Premier League game this season and is keen for regular football.

The story is written by Alan Nixon, a Scottish reporter in the north west of England with a strong track record of transfer stories.

With James Forrest out of action since September bringing in a right-winger will be a priority as Lennon looks to breathe new life into Celtic’s title hopes.

Ryan Christie and Jeremie Frimpong have played in that position but neither has the natural winger’s instinct of Forrest who isn’t expected to be back from an ankle injury until the end of January at the earliest.

Midfield would seem to be an area that is well covered but with Olivier Ntcham and Christie out of contract in June 2022 the club could be looking ahead and making plans for that area.
