Charlie Nicholas makes shock prediction over Lawwell’s replacement

Charlie Nicholas has tipped Peter Lawwell to leave Celtic at the end of the season with one of Dermot Desmond’s sons taking over as Chief Executive.
It is hard to believe that the former Sky Sports pundit has close contact at Celtic but after 17 years in the job Lawwell is bound to step down at some stage.
Many supporters are hoping for widespread change at the club but bringing in one of Desmond’s sons as Chief Executive looks about as imaginative, thorough and professional as appointing Neil Lennon as manager without considering any other candidates.
Covering his column in the Daily Express, the Daily Record reports Nicholas saying:
I’ve not liked the leadership of the club for a long time. I reckon chief executive Peter Lawwell will leave this season and I wouldn’t be surprised if one of major shareholder Dermot Desmond’s sons replaces him. I’ve seen Celtic’s demise coming and taken a lot of personal hits over this.
Ross, son of Dermot, attended the 2019 Celtic AGM and is believed to have attended board meetings on behalf of his Dad.
On Monday Celtic host their 2020 AGM online with shareholders invited to send in questions to be answered by the directors, led by CEO Lawwell.
