A late night post on Instagram left Celtic fans puzzled about the future of Hatem Abd Elhamed.
It has recently been reported that the defender has been left living on his own in Glasgow with his wife and family back home in Israel with travel options now virtually impossible.
Four Israeli sides are reported to be interested in signing the 29-year-old but the picture with his wife could be interpreted in a number of ways.
Whether it was taken in Scotland or Israel is impossible to tell, there are no giveaways in the background. It could be an older picture but looks recent enough with the defender unlikely to be seeking attention.
Yesterday his wife posted 19 posts all from Glasgow but it was impossible to date when the pictures and videos were taken.
Elhamed hasn’t played since Celtic’s 4-2 defeat from AC Milan with Jeremie Frimpong and Kris Ajer playing at right-back in the three matches since then.
There seems little likelihood of the Israeli international being involved in Celtic’s Scottish Cup Final squad at Hampden today.
As of yesterday there were no quarantine restrictions on anyne from Israel arriving in the UK.
