Three and a half years ago Erik Sviatchenko was in at the start of Celtic’s Quadruple Treble with his newly born son oblivious to what was going on around him.

Yesterday a Scandinavian touch brought the run to an end with father and son watching and cheering the success back home in Denmark.

Around the world fans watched the drama unfold from Hampden as it seemed that Celtic were incapable of retaining their grasp of the trophy. A 2-0 lead should have been good enough- as should a 3-2 advantage with 15 minutes of extra-time to be played.

Almost inevitably the tie headed into a penalty shoot-out with two of his former Celtic team-mates central to the action as Sviatchenko looked on from afar.

Ryan Christie looked devastated after seeing his penalty saved by Craig Gordon, another former team-mate of the Dane but two minutes later it was cheering all round as Kris Ajer decided the trophy with an emphatic penalty to set off global celebrations.
