As they prepared to face AC Milan in the San Siro last night there was a look of complete dread on the faces of the Celtic team.
It wasn’t steely resolve but a feeling of resignation as they prepared for another European ‘challenge’ just a week after being turned over 4-1 by Sparta Prague.
While their manager talks an upbeat game in the media the reality is far different among a group of players that are losing four goals a game as soon as they hear whatever anthem it is that they play before UEFA’s secondary tournament.
State of this team picture. Look at their faces, just says everything. pic.twitter.com/lt8FrdHjPy

Body language of the players has been terrible for months. Think half of them were hoping Lenny was sacked by now

Looking totally devoid of belief, confidence, togetherness enthusiasm etc etc etc

They have been slaughtered on and off the park. Confidence breeds confidence. There clearly is none at this moment in time.

It is now two wins in 11 matches for Lennon’s side. For the first time ever Celtic scored twice in the San Siro, Tom Rogic and Odsonne Edouard joined the elusive band of Tommy Gemmell and Stan Varga to score in the iconic stadium but it won’t be a night that any player will recall with fondness.
After going two goals in front before the 15th minute the inevitable happened with the Serie A leaders coming off the ropes to score four times.
Morale looks absolutely destroyed among the players. There is only one more Europa League match to endure this season but there are no signs that domestic fixtures are going to be any kinder to a club misfiring on all fronts.
