Neil Lennon has denied that there are underlying problems with the pitch at Celtic Park.

In the summers of 2017 and 2018 Celtic undertook work on the pitch to provide a desso hybrid on the instructions of Brendan Rodgers.

The first problems were noticed following the 2019 winter break with Rodgers putting it down slight disease.

At various times the pitch has looked less than state-of-the-art with fans concerned by the condition of the pitch which was designed to give the home side an advantage with their passing game.

Discussing the pitch, Lennon told The Sun:

It’s just this time of year. The weather’s inclement but it’s not stopping us from playing the type of football we want to play. It’s maybe no different from other years. I’ve played on worse, put it that way.

The pitch will be used again this afternoon when Dundee United visit before a short break ahead of the home math with Hibs on January 11.

With no matches played between March 7 and mid-July any issues should have been resolved at that time.
