David Turnbull looks like being back in the Celtic squad to face St Johnstone tomorrow.

The midfielder was caught up in the SFA virus shambles following the u-21 international in Greece that forced him into 10 days of self isolation.

Turnbull has only started one match- and played 131 minutes- since his £3m transfer from Motherwell despite Celtic’s struggles to find a winning combination.

The midfielder trained with Celtic on Wednesday but failed to make the bench in the San Siro despite Celtic being two substitutes short with Conor Hazard and Scott Bain included.

Celtic are back on domestic duties tomorrow with Neil Lennon telling The Sun:

Turnbull will be back for the weekend. He’s had the virus, so he’s done all of his testing, his heart testing and his physical testing. Hopefully, he’ll be in the squad for the game. He’s done his isolation and he’s done all of the tests, so he should be available.

After missing almost all of last season as he recovered from knee surgery Turnbull played in five matches for Motherwell before his switch to Celtic was revived.

In season 2018/19 he scored 15 goals from 30 matches in midfield which attracted the attention of Celtic before his well publicised failed medical.
