Neil Lennon has ruled out any players leaving Celtic during the January transfer window with the hoops boss predicting a quiet time.

During the summer window Celtic spent around £15m without any incoming fees. Coupled with no Champions League football and greatly reduced matchday and commercial revenues it would suggest a significant loss this term.

A number of key players including Kris Ajer and Odsonne Edouard will be out of contract in June 2022 but Lennon doesn’t expect the club to cash in on anyone in mid-season.

Q) Have you had guarantees, do you ask for guarantees that players won’t be sold without your consent.

N L) Yes, there will be no players being sold, unless it’s an offer that we think is the right thing for the club and for the squad. But at the minute, back in the summer right up until October we wanted to keep all of our best players and we’re hellbent on keeping them. I don’t expect this January to be as busy as other January’s before.

Lennon was coy about brining players in, perhaps a winger but with Mikey Johnstone back in contention and James Forrest close to resuming training there could soon be more options on the flanks.

Hatem Abd Elhamed is reported to be keen to return to Israel for family reasons but his circumstances haven’t been brought discussed at any recent media conferences.
